Tristan Amor Rabit works across painting, textile, installation and performance. Their practice is shaped by cutting, stitching, layering and staging. Surfaces become sites of exposure, protection and transformation. Centered on embodiment and vulnerability, their work focuses on marginalized bodies and fragile ways of being. Materials, surfaces and space are kept deliberately open, allowing meaning to emerge through unstable relations between body, matter and site rather than through fixed images. Painting is approached less as a finished picture than as a situation in motion, shaped by gestures of slowing down, opening and displacement. Material decisions carry emotional and political weight.
Alongside their individual work, Rabit initiates the loose working group Thank you for the reminder (TYFTR), which explores imagination, gathering and shared attention as artistic methods and forms of collective agency.
